How to print this page

 

How to find your server information to retrieve your e-mail from another service like Yahoo.

Outlook and Outlook Express users scroll down the page or click here

If you are using Netscape E-Mail: Open Netscape, click the Edit menu and choose Preferences. Looks like this:

After choosing Preferences, you get this dialog box:

Click on the + box to the left of the Mail & Newsgroups and select Mail Servers. The dialog box then shows the name of the Incoming mail server like this:

Ignore the outgoing mail (SMTP) server. The only thing you need is the Incoming server name.

Outlook and Outlook Express users:

If you are using Outlook or Outlook Express, you need to go to Tools, Accounts, select the name of the account you use and find the Incoming server name. Here are the successive screen shots:

Choose your e-mail. You may have a long list of junk accounts. Then click Properties to get this:

Then select the Server tab to get the name of the incoming server.

Other E-mail programs will have the information in a similar dialog box.
