Clock - An example of really nice programming
Move your mouse around. Then hold it still and watch the clock. This was copied from another site and he had no idea where it came from. If you know who programmed it, please let me know so credit can be given and permission asked to continue to display it. Obviously since I did not program it, I do not know how it works
Another factor I just discovered is how to display two time zones in 24 hour format in Windows Vista & Win 7 There are many programs for pay & free to add clocks to the sidebar but none of the free ones will display 24 hour time. You can select multiple clocks in the Windows Vista or 7 sidebar but only in 12 hour format. The reason for this is my renewed interest in Amateur radio. Calls are logged in local and UTC time. UTC time is always in 24 hour format. So to make logging easier I wanted to see the UTC time displayed on my computer in 24 hour format. After reviewing many Google answers, I finally found the answer. The taskbar clock can display up to 3 time zones at one time. Many sites desribed the way to do it but it still was in 12 hour format. Then I found the way to change it to 24 hour. To change the clock display from 12 to 24 or back: Open the Control Panel. Select "Regional and Language Settings". In the Format tab, click the "Customize this format" button. Then in the next window click the Time tab. Click the Time Format drop list & select your choice. Then select Apply or OK. To display more than one clock in the taskbar: Right click the clock. (others say double click it- doesn't work!) Select "Adjust Date & Time". (You can do this from Control Panel also but this is quicker. In the Date and Time window, select the "Additional Clocks" tab. You can select 2 more clocks with different time zones. Click Apply or OK. The multiple displays are only visible when you hover your mouse over the time display in the taskbar. |
