A word of caution: You
can make a real mess by doing some of the tasks shown on the pages contained
herein, so be careful. If you follow my advice to have Go
Back installed
before you play here, correcting serious errors is easy. Without Go
Back, you may
mess Windows up so badly that it is almost impossible to back out of and may
require reloading Windows. FMS
or its employees are not responsible for any errors made by following the suggestions
on these pages. You attempt them at your own risk. That's why Go
Back is so valuable.
You can make all the mistakes you want and recover in a matter of minutes. Click
here to see notes about installing in XP
As of Dec 2009, Symantec has obsoleted GoBack & replaced it with Norton Ghost. The principle still holds- MAKE A BACKUP BEFORE DOING ANY MAINTENANCE. Actually you should do a backup regularly anyway.
